Orthodox

Orthodox is a trio born in Seville in 2004. Being one of the most daring bands in spanish metal underground, their sound, rooted in doom metal, incorporates drone, jazz or stoner rock elements. They’ve played at international festivals such as Hellfest, Roadburn, Supersonic or Primavera Sound and they have collaborated with artists such as rock shaman Julian Cope or flamenco artists like Israel Galván, Terremoto de Jerez or Inés Bacán.

Orthodox accumulate an extensive discography with six albums and multiple ep’s, cassettes, splits, etc… released by labels like Alone Records Southern Lord or Knockturne Records and have toured Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, UK and Canada.

After a period operating as a duo open to all kinds of collaborations and experiments, the band works again as the original trio (Marco Serrato bass & vocals, Ricardo Jiménez guitar and Borja Díaz drums), writing and new album to be released sometime time in 2020/2021.

Orthodox have shared the stage with artists like Fernando Terremoto, Viaje a 800, Earth, Melvins, Israel Galván, Voivod, 1349, Thrones, The Hidden Hand, Attila Csihar, Inés Bacán, Electric Wizard, Corrosion of Conformity, Harmonia, Nick Bullen, Pagan Altar, Lydia Lunch, Moho, Blue Cheer, Stephen O’Malley, Proyecto Lorca, Neurosis, Guru Guru, Monarch, Om, Bohman Brothers, Napalm Death, Year of no Light, Count Raven, Ramesses, Wolf Eyes, Dead Neanderthals.
